Training from The Meadows
I trained at The Meadows Behavioral Health, a world-renowned treatment center, and have experience working with addictions and eating disorders. I’m trained in Post Induction Therapy (PIT), which grew out of Pia Mellody’s work at The Meadows.
What Post Induction Therapy is
PIT is based on Pia Mellody’s Overview of Developmental Immaturity Issues model. It treats the childhood trauma that can lead to problem behaviors in adulthood, including codependency and addiction. Using several techniques, including experiential therapy, it addresses unresolved childhood wounds directly so you can heal and move forward.
What I help with
- Codependency and relationship patterns that keep repeating
- Addiction, and dual diagnosis (addiction alongside another mental health concern)
- Infidelity and relationship issues
- Family conflict
- Self-esteem
Bringing someone with you
Sometimes it helps to have a partner or family member in the room. An individual session with a significant other or family member present is one hour and $215. It stays focused on you; I don’t offer couples therapy.
Sessions and fees
Sessions are 55 minutes and $165, online by video or in person in Renton, WA on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I’m not contracted with insurance; I can give you a superbill if you’d like to ask your plan about out-of-network reimbursement.
Questions
What is codependency?
Broadly, it’s a pattern of putting other people’s needs, moods or problems ahead of your own to the point that you lose track of yourself. It often starts as a way to cope in childhood.
Is this a substitute for addiction treatment or detox?
No. Outpatient therapy can be part of recovery, but if you need medical detox or a higher level of care, please talk with a doctor. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988.
