When stress takes over
Many of us struggle with the stress of day-to-day life. We get caught up in what’s happening around us and lose touch with what’s happening inside. Anxiety can look like constant worry, a racing heart, irritability, poor sleep, or avoiding the things that set it off.
Sometimes anxiety stands on its own. Sometimes it grows out of past trauma or a hard season of life, like a breakup, a move or a loss.
How I help
- CBT helps you notice the thought patterns behind overwhelming feelings, so you feel more in control and can try new ways of responding.
- DBT teaches practical skills in mindfulness, tolerating distress, regulating emotions and handling relationships, with goals and homework you can use between sessions.
- The Safe and Sound Protocol works with the nervous system directly, for anxiety that feels physical as much as mental.
- When anxiety is rooted in trauma, we can address the trauma itself with EMDR or Brainspotting.
The goal
My aim is to help you connect back to your true, authentic self and find the inner steadiness you deserve, with skills you can keep using long after therapy ends.
Sessions and fees
Sessions are 55 minutes and $165, online by video or in person in Renton, WA on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I’m not contracted with insurance; I can give you a superbill if you’d like to ask your plan about out-of-network reimbursement.
Questions
How long does anxiety therapy take?
It depends on you and what’s behind the anxiety. We’ll talk about your goals in the free consult and check in on progress as we go.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. I’m a licensed counselor, not a prescriber. If you’d like to explore medication, talk with your doctor.
